Tail-spin for Fishing Success
Jack Dalzell of Amherst, Ohio is one of the best smallmouth anglers and guides that Ive ever met. His Secret Weapon is a modification that increases the impression of a flashing, fluttering ball of fish. In addition to one or two Quick-clip Blade Attachments above the hook, Jack adds another behind the skirt. All those flashing blades, shimmering skirt, and a super-sharp Mustad hook right in the middle is a trap for hungry predators.
The Quick-clip at the front end of every Secret Weapons Blade Attachment was designed to quickly and easily attach the in-line spinner blade to a bait or another Blade Attachment.
1. Close the Quick-clip.
2. Slip a short length of silicone tubing over the eye of the clip.
3. Impale the tube with the spinnerbait, jig, or buzzbait hook.
Choose a size, shape, and color that achieves the effect you want. Blades function the same way on the back of a bait as they do clipped to a Secret Weapon frame. For more drag, lift, and vibration, choose a Colorado Blade Attachment. For more flash and to run deeper, clip on a willowleaf.
Thats pretty much all there is to it. As always, we provide the tools, you provide the ingenuity. If you have tips and techniques, let us know and well pass them along. Thanks, Jack, for this great tip.
Good fishing!
