Tim Mason
Home: Hopkinsville, KY Kentucky and Barkley Lakes spanning TN and KY
Occupation: Bass Guide, Outdoor Writer, Fishing Seminar Speaker
Sponsors: TennesseBassGuides, All Pro Rods, Prowler Lures, High Roller Lures, and, of course, Secret Weapon Lures
Tournaments: ABA (American Bass Anglers)
Favorite Fishing Style: Spinnerbaits, Flipping, Pitching, Drop Shotting, Carolina Rigging, and Jerk Baits
Military Service: Master Sgt., US Army, retired
Tips & Techniques: Fishing big spinnerbaits on points, ledges and humps isnt a big secret, but its a technique that very few bass fishermen use. I think it boils down to knowledge or maybe lack of knowledge on what to use. My goal by writing this article is to give you some tips that will help you understand what works for me and give you some new ammunition to use on your next trip to the lake. There are a ton of factors associated with fishing ledges correctly with a spinnerbait such as: (1) the spinnerbait itself, (2) correct blades, (3) the right rod, (4) reel ratio, (5) line size, and (6) bait colors for Barkley and Kentucky Lake. (Read on....)
Qualifications: Tim Mason is the Tennessee Bass Guides Team guide on Barkley and Kentucky Lakes. Tim has been a professional fisherman-guide and fishing instructor in the Tennessee-Kentucky area for more than 12 years. He has also fished the ESPN Bassmasters-Wal-Mart FLW, BFL and the P.B.F circuits along with being the Bass Pro Shops Fishing Instructor in Nashville for more than 5 years.
Tim is a frequent guest on two Tennessee cable TV fishing shows, Outdoors With Doug & Hugh and Fishin Country with Tony Dodson, and he provides fishing reports and tips on Tennessees Wild Side Web site and TV show. Several major fishing publications have published articles about Tim, and he is often asked to hold seminars for clubs, tackle shows, and events in the Tennessee & Kentucky area.
E-mail Tim if you would like to learn more about Kentucky and Barkley Lakes. Call 615-765-7303 or e-mail Rick McFerrin at TennesseBassGuides.com to schedule a guided trip.
