Favorite Techniques: I love cranking & spinnerbaiting rip-rap banks, but I consider myself versatile and able to change with conditions.
Fishing Tip: Have confidence. Whether you are competing in a tournament or fishing for leisure, confidence is essential to ensure a successful day on the water. If you are fishing with a technique that you have confidence in, chances are you will stick with the bait for a longer period of time, eventually discovering the way the fish will take that particular lure. Without confidence, many anglers will be unsure if what they are throwing will generate fish. Due to this lack of confidence, anglers will abandon potentially productive techniques and be stuck changing and retying lures. Always believe in yourself when fishing; this will enable you to have fun on the water and catch more fish.
Biography:
Dziwulski, a 16-year-old high school junior, has been fishing for about 12 years. In 2005 he joined a Junior Bassmaster Chapter to explore tournament fishing and put his skills to the test. Throughout the year he never finished out of the top 3, and he took first place in six tournaments. Ben qualified for the Jr. All-State Tournament on the Potomac River. He went on to win that event, which then qualified him to compete in the Junior World BASSMASTER Championships on Feb 18 2007 (Jr. Classic fished with classic qualifiers). In this tournament he will compete against the top 45 qualifiers from places like Japan, South Africa, and the USA.
In school, Ben attends a frequent Business/Marketing seminar that helps him understand the world of competitive marketing and promotion. He is enrolled in an Independent Research/ Mentorship class, where his project is the steps youths can take to become professional anglers. His mentor through this process is FLW tour pro Frank Ippoliti, who is helping Ben learn how to promote products and present tournaments. He is also giving Ben valuable coaching and imparting fishing knowledge that he hopes will carry him to the top of the leader boards come February 18 at the Junior World Championships.
Ben plays varsity football and basketball while maintaining a 3.9 GPA (4.3 weighted). He was accepted into the National Honors Society and has been on the honor roll for every year.
