In the past three years, thanks to the generosity of our customers, Prostaff, Field Staff, and vendors, Secret Weapon has been able to donate over $50,000 in fishing tackle to US military anglers. In March 2008, Secret Weapon Lures donated 10% of all online sales to provide fishing tackle for military anglers participating in Warriors on the Water. About Warriors on the Water

For three years now, Secret Weapon has sponsoring Warriors on the Water, which has become one of the premiere military appreciation events in the country. Secret Weapon Prostaffer and WOW President Greg Lahr co-founded the organization with fellow Desert Storm veterans Hal Abshire and Bob Cunningham. Another SWL Prostaff and active duty Air Force member, James Poirrier, represented Secret Weapon at this year’s event.

On 18 April 2008, 180 boaters took active duty military out on Jordan Lake to compete in this bass fishing tournament. Most of the military personnel were stationed at nearby Pope Air Force Base, Fort Bragg, and Camp Lejeune.

“All of them have just gotten back from Iraq or Afghanistan and this is the first time a lot of them have seen appreciation of this multitude,” said Hal Abshire, who organized the event with fellow Desert Storm veteran Greg Lahr and Bob Cunningham.

Plans are already in the works for next year’s event.
